Thanks for the interesting topics you suggested for future posts on this blog. Some are more serious than others, but I will address each one in the coming days and weeks.
I’ll begin this evening by explaining how I publicly embarrassed Sara at Monday’s College of Communication dinner party:
The college’s faculty and staff members, along with their spouses, enjoyed a lovely evening of fellowship at Eagleview restaurant outside of Searcy. Dr. Mike James, our esteemed dean, asked the employees to talk about our summers, our plans for the year or any other exciting announcements.
When my time came around, I stood and announced, “Well, I guess the big news is that we’re HAVING ANOTHER BABY!”
Amidst the squealing “oohs” and “aahs,” I immediately set the record straight, “I’m JUST KIDDING!” I think the raucous laughter that followed was a result of the face Sara made at my pathetic attempt to be the “funny man.”
I was almost certain I was going to have to find a ride home, but like always, she was quick to forgive. You have no idea how good of a woman she is to stay married to me. Or maybe you do.
JIM!!!!!!!!!! Do you hear me screaming your name! You are one lucky man to still be inside your house! ha ha
Yes, Sara is good woman – you are very lucky!
No Jim, not funny!!
Oh yes, she is a very, very, very good woman! Jokes like that around here are dangerous!
Sounds like you were crusin for a bruisin’. She is a wonderful woman and you are very blessed she forgives quickly!
That is TERRIBLE!!! Don’t ever do that again!
Oh, Jim. (Sigh. I’m shaking my head right now.) 🙂
